I am so beyond excited to share this glowy springtime session in Georgetown, Texas with you today! Meeting the Pittman family was a dream come true. A beautiful, full of joy, young family that felt like friends instantly. We had this session booked about two months in advanced. I was counting down the days, so excited to finally meet this family, and get them stunning spring photos, at the beautiful Overlook Park. I was on my way to the park, windows down, soaking up the sun on this gorgeous Saturday evening. With a smile on my face, and my camera bag in my passenger seat, I was READY for this session, it was going to be amazing.
I turn onto the park road, and I swear my soul left my body. The park road was CLOSED! Completely blocked off. I’ve shot at this location for years. I grew up coming to this park! Monday through Sunday, never in my life have i seen it completely closed. That’s when my phone pinged. An email from Sandra.
“Hello! It looks like the park is closed. Is there another entrance?”
I hopped out of the car, this was a conversation to be had face to face. I felt defeated, unprofessional. Slightly panicked. This had never happened. This was the Pittman Family’s first professional photography session, Great! What a wonderful first impression. I didn’t quite know how to go about this via email, thank goodness we had both arrived early, and magically, at the same time. I apologetically explained this situation to the best of my ability. Both Sandra and Forrest were extremely understanding, and we made the best out of our unfortunate situation. I am nothing if not a photographer that will find a way to make things work!
And boy did we make it work! This session might be one of my cutest sessions yet! Sandra, Forrest, and their sweet sweet son, Michael, were AMAZING! It was genuinely hard to believe this was their first time in front of a professional camera. Most of my go-to poses, they did naturally, their smiles lite up their surroundings, and it translated stunningly on camera. I can’t thank the Pittman family enough for choosing me to capture what matters most to them, and I am counting down the days until our next session together. Until then, here are some adorable sneak peeks! I hope you love them as much as I loved creating them!
