A broken bolt, New plants, and plot twists!

2026 has already been interesting to say the least, March specifically is no exception. It has been a wild ride. Nothing life altering, or negative to an extreme, but it has definitely had its ups and downs.

We kicked off the month of March with an over dramatic broken bolt. Now, if you know me, or have read my bio, you’ll know that I love me some cars, especially my Bronco. It’s a dream come true! The perfect color, the perfect wheels, all the bells and whistles. But I decided, I wanted it taller. Let’s lift it! Yeah. Let me, a girl who has never dealt with suspension, lift my brand new Bronco. Nothing could go wrong… Right? WRONG! Everything was going surprisingly well at first. It took some time, but i’ll spare you all of the details. Turns out we were missing one very important tool… Oh well. We can’t complete the job, but at least we learned some new skills. We accepted defeat and started to put the bronco back together. That’s when things went south. We completed what is in my opinion, the scariest part, getting my coilover back in. Time to bolt everything into place. SNAP! My lower strut bolt broken clean in half. PANIC. So many things instantly started running through my head. WHAT HAVE I DONE?! I’ll tell you exactly what i did. I over-torqued the dang thing! It was a Sunday. Everything is closed. I had to come up with a solution. Fast. I woke up at 7AM the next day, called around, and Mission Save Dakota the Bronco was a go. My good friend Juan, loaded my Bronco on his trailer, and off she went.

My solution, you may ask? A professional shop that know what they’re doing, has the proper tools, you know… The bare minimum. In the end my Bronco got her new suspension lift, all thanks to Baldy’s 4×4 shop! I seriously cannot thank Trey enough for getting my car in on such short notice, and getting her back to me in such a short time! I highly recommend Baldy’s for all your 4×4 needs!!

The next thing: A lot less interesting, but definitely still frustrating.

I also happen to be a plant collector. And if you know anything about house plants, there is ALWAYS a problem child. Extra dramatic, extra annoying. Here is the problem child in question:

Some leaves burnt to a cisp, some leaves yellow and soggy. So Its dehydrated, and over watered at the same time? Ugh. This has been an ongoing issue, well before the month of March, however, March is when it finally started to really get on my nerves. No matter where I placed the plant, how little or how much I watered it, misted it, set it by the humidifier, or left it alone, it just wasn’t having it. So… How do we fix this issue? Get more plants… Duh! Nothing feels better than a little plant therapy. But, I was smart, and decided to get some slightly less dramatic plants. I even rescued an overwatered Spider Plant. While I am stoked about my new plant friends, I seriously need my problem child to get it together!

And finally… And honestly the scariest, the biggest plot twist at a session that happened only 2 days ago.. I won’t go into too much detail, you’ll have to find out more when the session blog post is up… The location in Georgetown, a location I’ve shot at more time than I can count was completely unusable! Closed! Unreachable! It was a very scary photographer moment… But don’t worry. We made it work, and as I’m editing this session… It might have been for the best!

There you have it. Three semi-chaotic moments that seriously made me want to curl up into a ball and shed a tear. But I pulled through! These issues might seem trivial, less than blog worthy. But sometimes it’s the little things that build up, and make lift just a little more difficult than it needs to be. However, they all have one thing in common… I found a solution, and everything went back to normal. Let this post be a lesson! No matter the issue, no matter how big or small, you will ALWAYS come out on the other side! If you can relate, even in the slightest way, I know 2026 will only continue to get better. Hold on tight, and make the best of it!
