Photography is such an amazing way to capture moments, and freeze them in time. Create beautiful memories, hang them up on your walls in gorgeous frames, and look back on them for years to come.

Many of you may be thinking, just me, my family, and a photographer will do the trick… right? While you’re not technically wrong, there is one simple way to bring your photos to the next level. Bring them from “wow”, to “WOW!”

Props!

What are props?

A prop could be something so simple you wouldn’t think twice about it, such as a sun hat, or a bouquet of flowers. It could also be a big statement piece, such as a classic car! Props have a wind range of variety, and really know how to elevate an image. But let’s say you don’t have access to a classic car, don’t worry, most people don’t… A cute picnic basket and some flowers will absolutely do the trick! Ask the Mead family! It was an awesome way to artistically photograph baby Harper’s ultrasound!

Maybe you’ve thought long and hard about a prop or two to bring, and you just can’t figure out what you want to use as a prop! Don’t worry, I have another trick up my sleeve. Another valuable option would be the world around you! Using objects you have access to on location can help create a beautiful photo. In this case, the Kennedy family had a lifestyle session at a local pumpkin patch. They had brought a blanket for their little girl, Raelynn, so I sat her down on that blanket surrounded by tons of pumpkins, and let little miss Rae explore those pumpkins around her, and they turned out to be some of the *cutest* photos I have ever taken!

So, if you’re looking for a simple yet creative way to bring your gallery to the next level, one good prop is the perfect way to go! If props aren’t your thing, that’s totally okay! If we work together we can still create a stunning gallery of photos for you, completely prop free!
