My First Studio Session – A Dream Come True

Woah! It’s been a while!

Life has been CRAZY!

There are so many big (and amazing) things happening, and I have been slacking in the social media department. That includes the blog. And can I just say, I’ve missed it! I’ve missed giving you a peek behind the curtains, and providing fun (game-changing) tips & tricks. I am so beyond happy to be back!

I’m sure you’ve missed it too… So let’s dive right in!

Justine’s birthday session started out just like any other. We met at our location on the Georgetown Square, said hello, shared a warm hug, and it was time to get down to business.

And then.. Oops! My SD card was full! No biggie, I will grab a fresh new card! I told Justine to take a seat while I grabbed a new card, and she did just that. (This is when a MIRACLE happened!)

While I was grabbing a new SD card for our session, a woman approached Justine, asking about her dress. She asked her if she was attending an event, and Justine informed her that I was taking her photos. That’s when this amazing mystery woman announced.. “I have a studio upstairs!” And asked if we would like to use it… For FREE!

My jaw dropped. I was *so* excited! I had never shot in a studio before, and all Justine wanted for her birthday was a studio session. How perfect could this timing be!?

Both Justine and I both expected a bare studio with white walls, maybe a cute backdrop, and a handful of props. But this studio was no ordinary, basic, studio. It. Was. STUNNING. Absolutely, jaw droppingly, breath takingly, stunning. It was an a literal dream come true. Down to the smallest little details, I was head over heels in love!

I mean COME. ON. The table!? The golden rose!? All the furniture, big or small, was just *perfect.*

Turns out, our mystery woman’s name is Victoria, and she is the proud owner of Studio Lumière (which is opening very soon!), and co-owner of Faith & Fire Photography (an amazing husband & wife wedding photographer team!) P.S You should check them out on Instagram! (@faithandfire & @sudiolumieretx)

But there is still more! I am the *FIRST* photographer (other than Victoria) to shoot in Studio Lumière! Can you believe it? Because I certainly can’t! It still doesn’t seem real to me! I am so honored!

Anyway.. We got right to it! There were so many opportunities within the studio, so we weren’t wasting *any* time. I even had the chance to finally try out some fun filters that I have been holding on to! And to be honest.. I don’t want to waste any time sharing some of sneak peeks! (I just can’t help it!)

Breath taking, am I right?

Justine, I am always so honored to capture your beauty, and you are so amazing to serve. I hope you love your photos as much as I loved creating them! And to the unbelievably sweet Victoria, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the amazing opportunity to use your stunning studio, and making Justine’s birthday wish come true!
