The First Pose I Do At Every Session
Getting in front of a professional camera can make you feel nervous. Maybe you freeze up, and you start feeling stressed. I totally get it. (I’m actually pretty camera shy, believe it or not.) The last thing anyone wants is to look stiff and awkward in their photos. It can take some time to warm up, relax, and get into a groove. That’s why I start every single session the same way:
With walking photos!
There are *so many* pros to starting your session with walking photos.
A prime example? It’s something you already know how to do! If I asked you to do the “giggle kiss” you would have no idea what I’m talking about. You would probably look at me like I’m crazy, slowly back away, then run for the hills. It also gets your body moving! It gets your blood flowing, and that gives you a chance to shake off some of those nerves. Like I said, stiff and awkward is NOT the goal for these photos. You want to look fresh and natural… no stiff barbie joints here!
Want *another* bonus to walking photos? When you start with walking, you don’t have to stare directly at the camera! (That’s a big win in my book. I’m not sure about you, but staring at a camera can feel really awkward if you aren’t properly warmed up and ready to go.) You get to look at the people you *love*, and whats better than that?!
So if you’re feeling nervous about your upcoming session, just think about how easy it is to walk! Once we get to know each other you won’t even realize the camera is there, and we’re going to have a blast!
